Charles Doherty
Charles, sometimes known as Daniel Charles Doherty, is a graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, whose alumni include Hugh Jackman, Francis O’Connor, Jai Courtney, Tim Minchin, Dominic Purcell and many more.
Charles is a UK based award-winning actor with a career covering Film, TV, Theatre, Musical Theatre and Opera.
Recent Television roles include Officer Woods in The Tattooist of Auschwitz (Sky Atlantic), Robbie in John Carpenter’s Suburban Screams finale “Phone Stalker” (NBC Peacock), and James Brunot in The Toys That Built America (History Channel).
FIlm roles include Father Hallow in Rewilding (Prime) and Hitman in A New Breed of Criminal (Prime).
Charles Doherty is a versatile character actor, equally at home playing comedy or drama. This has also made him a versatile double and stand-in for major Hollywood actors including Matt Berry, Michael Stuhlbarg and Mike Myers. Charles has also worked under many famous directors including Noah Baumbach (Jay Kelly), Luca Guardanino (After the Hunt), Michael Morris (Bridget Jones 4) and, of course, John Carpenter.

In combination with his versatile accent and character talents, he can pass for a variety of ethnicities including Eurasian (Chinese/Caucasian, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijani), Caucasian, Spanish or Hispanic, Middle Eastern, American and Southern European.

Charles is a recipient of a Young Australian of the Year Award for the Arts NT, the Robert Finley Graduation Award from WAAPA, 5 All Ireland One Act Festival Best Actor Awards and a NODA Performance award.

Musical Theatre credits include Arthur in Spamalot (Noda Winner), Bustopher Jones in Cats, Dennis in Rock of Ages, Corny in Hairspray, Gomez in the Addams Family, Bob in Pricilla Queen of the Desert, Don in Kinkyboots, Pilate in JCS and many more. International tours include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Evita and Oliver!
Charles was also an artist with Opera Australia, the Victorian State Opera and The Western Australian Opera.
In 2015 Charles toured Ireland with the English One Act play: A Land Much Like Ours, in the lead role. His performance garnered 5 best actor awards at theatre festivals across Ireland.
